” I want to shop at a store called Forever 31 where everything is stretchy and soft. Also….there’s music playing at a reasonable volume and free wine depending on the time of day.”
Okay, that quote was taken somewhere on the internet. The sight of bottles of wine delivered to my door was enough to make me happy and giddy with excitement. God only knows we need sips of fine wine to make us forget how awful life is during this pandemic. The New Normal is simply just hard for everyone.

From the winery.ph online cellar, I chose Made in Australia wines because it is a sunny, lovely country and they have vast vineyards. One of the top brands that come to mind when talking about this country is All Saints Estate. They have quality products at prices that won’t break the bank. Furthermore, they will surely impress the guests.
From the box: the All Saints Moscato, All Saints Cabernet Sauvignon and All Saints Shiraz.
The first bottle I opened was the Moscato (P990) which paired perfectly with the shrimp fajitas I cooked that day. The guide said this vino was good to pair with cream based fruit desserts, but really this was sweet enough to be enjoyed on its own or as an aperitif.
PAIRING NOTES: All-Saints Moscato coming from the Rutherglen region of Victoria state is a cheeky alternative to sparkling wine or champagne, and is the perfect partner to lightly-spiced dishes and blue cheese. With sweet, grapey flavors, this is best to drink while all sparkly and young. Alcohol content is a light 5.3%
The second bottle is the All-Saints Cabernet Sauvignon (P1,590) – a well-balanced, modest Cabernet that approximates its French counterparts and is perfect to pair with steak and other beef dishes.
Displaying a vibrant, dark purple colour with an alco content of 12.6%, the All Saints dry red wine shows typical, varietal blackcurrant fruit character. It finishes long and dry with fine, sandy-grained tannins and lovely spice notes like the French oak. It is splendid, full-bodied and lush.
The last bottle which am saving for the holidays is the All-Saints Shiraz (priced at P1,590, alcohol volume at 14.4%). Well actually, they recommended that this is best kept in the cellar for three to five years 😀 It’s described as richly-flavoured with spicy plum, dark fruits, smooth vanilla and rich chocolate from oak maturation. the fine structural tannins give it great length on the finish.
PAIRING NOTES: The All-Saints Shiraz will match well with grilled red meats or earthier dishes such as gourmet sausages, beef or lamb stew, duck risotto, steak and kidney pies. The blend is quite versatile and would also suit rich, tomato-based pasta dishes.
