WesternUnion World is a cool app developed for Facebook by Western Union to show how globally networked an individual is. I tried the application right on Facebook and my results showed that I have friends in 36 countries with a rank of 380th most networked person in the Philippines. Yay! Here’s the screenshot:

To celebrate its 160th anniversary, the Western Union is calling for the Philippines’ most globally connected individuals to step forward and take the Western Union Network Challenge at www.westernunionworld.com/yourworld.
The online application visualizes Facebook fans’ global connections and users receive a score (“World Index”) that shows how globally connected they are. They can compare their ranking against their Facebook friends, against others in their country and against others in the world.
Each individual’s score will also contribute to the score of the respective country of residence which will provide the ranking of the most geographically connected nations. The Philippines also has the opportunity to prove to be the most geographically connected nation in the world.

I actually got to use this app last week and it was fun seeing I got friends on my Facebook network from different places in the world like in my dream travel destination – France. ^_^
I was ranked higher last week. Now, I’m the 1,652nd most networked in the Philippines. Need to work on that. 🙂

Pano ba yan, I’m not from Manila )as if mananalo, hehe) I’m probably one of the first few na nag test nito kasi the moment na nag click ito sa mga ka network ko sa US (Top 50 most networked in the US kasi sila so ayun, clicka agad, ehhe), so ayun, trya agad ako. Ang saya kasi pinapakita kung saang lugar ka most network.

I have relatively few friends and countries on my list, and ranked very low against friends. I think it is due to the fact that I screen friend requests and a lot of my friends are blogger who really have wide networks. I think I should start connecting more to maximize social networking sites, after all, we Filipinos are very good with that! 🙂
I ranked 5/5 in my network, 12,463/13,810 in my country and 170,864/225,771 in the world. 🙂

This is a pretty good app, it looks on all your friends connectivity. I have a world index of 20. Its because Almost all of my friends are in the philippines. But hey, As time goes by, who knows I may have several international friends and my Index would go up!
