Royce, those exquisite, melt-in-yer-mouth chocolates from Japan, is in town! You just have to look and be patient. Chances are the growing number of Japanese convenience stores in the metro is sure to offer them, in one way or other. That’s how we found Royce Nama chocos in the freezer counter of the Konbini Store Tokyo Market in Greenhills.
The Japanese-owned Konbini prides itself of being a “one-stop shop for imported Japanese goods.” The good thing is that if you can’t find the Japanese stuff you were looking in the shop, just leave your name and number and they will get back to you in a few weeks (sure hope so! I am craving for that mint!)
Konbini also has a spacious take-out counter of (what else but) Japanese dishes. On offer are gyoza, tempura, karaage (Japanese fried chicken) torimeshi rice (authentic Japanese chicken rice) pita-pan (Japanese sandwich) and yakitori. Sushi station coming soon.
The best thing is that there’s wi-fi!
Konbini is at #57 Connecticut St., Northeast Greenhills
San Juan City
Tel. No. 722-4263
