A few days ago, I had a star-struck moment with Kris Aquino. No matter what you say about what she does or do, I am a fan because I actually grew up following her life after she came home from the US and their family rose into power. I was thrilled to be within inches of her at the launch of the Asvel home and kitchen store in the Podium Mall, Mandaluyong City.
Kris talked briefly about her autoimmune disorder and said she chooses to dwell on positive things to make her cope. “It’s something that has taught me to appreciate everything so much more. The times that i have to give the boys as much as I can when am healthy and the fact that they go way beyond what they should be doing in trying to take care of me, that makes me realize how blessed I am.”
She revealed that they’ve had to “change so many things at home” to make it easier and more convenient for her who has to deal with “bad days and good days” of her disorder.
Asvel is a brand from Japan and Kris is the perfect ambassador for two reasons: she likes to tinker in the kitchen and prepare meals for her kids and friends. In this regard, Asvel has the right products to make things convenient for all the busy people out there. Two, Kris and her boys are huge fans of Japan, its people and its culture so it makes sense for her to endorse Asvel in the Philippines.
I’ve seen Asvel products up close and even use their sturdy rice dispenser at home so I can vouch that this brand has the seal of quality one usually expects of something Made in Japan.
These mugs and tumblers are some of Kris’ favorites. They’re vacuum-insulated and keep drinks at the right temperature.
Asvel rice dispensers are a winner. As I said, I have it at home and I love how they are airtight and keep the rice free from dust and moisture!
Not to forget, those lunch boxes which are must-buys for moms whose kids bring food to school. What’s good about the Asvel items is that they’re compact, stackable and keep the baon warm and fresh.
There are utensils on sale as well to complete the line-up
Here’s a sample of a beautifully-laid out kiddie meal made by the Bento Mommas using Asvel containers, of course…
Aside from everything I mentioned, Asvel also has dish and utensil racks, canisters, food drawers, oil and condiment pots, kitchen waste bins.
If you’re nowhere near the vicinity of the Podium Mall, Asvel products are also available in Make Room, Rustan’s Department Stores, Cash & Carry, National Bookstore and selected The SM Stores (SM Mall of Asia, SM Makati, Aura, Megamall and North EDSA).
