Travel in Pagudpud: Blue Lagoon in Maira-ira Point & Polaris Beach House in Saud

We spent Day Two of our road trip hanging out in the famed Blue Lagoon beach at Maira-Ira Point. This is considered the best beach in the coastal town of Pagudpud, and is so named because of its clear blue waters. The sand may not be as white as the beaches in the Visayas, but I liked that it wasn’t so crowded and the surroundings were kept clean. We sure hope it stays this way!

The waters were inviting, but swimming is advised at your own risk. The waves looked big and strong and was certainly ideal for surfing. Hubby tried to ride the waves (e.g. body surf) and considered the waves the strongest he’s been in. We’re sure the sea in Pagudpud is more kind during the summer 😀

During our two-day stay, we were billeted in the 22-room Polaris Beach House. This is one place I can recommend to budget travelers for its low-priced yet clean accommodations. Airconditioned rooms for two are priced as low as P800 during the lean season.

The best thing about Polaris is its fast and free wi-fi connection (reason why am blogging now!) They also catered our food in-house and during our beach picnic and it was good, just not too many choices in the menu. I also couldn’t help but fall in love with the view just outside our lodgings ….
