Polka dots is something I associate with the New Year. In the past, silly old me would end up with a top or dress (make it a frumpy house dress) with polka dots in them, along with jingling coins in my pocket at the stroke of 12:01. As the oldies would say, no harm in wishing yourself good luck.
Now it seems polka dots are no longer a New Year thing as designers go in full gear to make them the trend this season. Starting with Yayoi Kusama for Louis Vuitton.
Dropping by the Newport Mall this week, I was lusting after the Furla bon bon bag. I like Furla because it’s in the same reasonable price range as Kate Spade but the designs are always chic.
Kate Spade has been doing polka dots long before – from bags to iPhone cases. I own this not-so-polka dotted bag (circa 2010) Photo: c/o Kate Spade
Our baby Lucia in polka dots for her photo op after her first birthday. She’s now two and her hair has grown curly 🙂
Polka dots sure look good in any body, of any age. Bring it on.
