Too tired & knackered to blog. While I try to get back to regular programming, kindly allow me to post the following plugs and pictures:
Melo Villareal’s Lakbay Pilipinas blog is giving some readers a chance to win a limited edition free copy of Jessica Zafra’s Twisted Travels. The rules are simple: Just comment on the post, blog about it, Stumble it!, and/or contribute at least two articles to the blog. Why am I doing this? Because I want my copy too! 😛 Thanks in advance Melo:)
Zee has clued me in on this interesting contest by Nestle Philippines on how Nescafe 3-in-1 enhances your barkada moments. Show your creativity by piecing together any of the videos in the site into a 90-second commercial. For the advanced category, you may use your own vids and animation. Cool prices such as Macbooks and iPods are at stake!
August has been a milestone month for breastfeeding advocates, with a synchronized breastfeeding to be held worldwide tomorrow, August 8. In the local front, underwear maker Barbizon held a two-kilometer Milkshake Marathon at the Fort. TV host Suzi Entrata-Abrera noted that breastfeeding is a lifestyle choice and people should know more than attributing it to “old-fashioned, stay-at-home moms who have nothing better to do.” Said Suzi:
” Breastfeeding is a significant health decision with life-long consequences for babies, parents as well as the environment.” Well, if women can only be assured that they’d be as thin as Suzi even after they’ve delivered three (or four?) babies, am sure they’d be breastfeeding more. I was only able to breastfeed my eldest for a brief time and I had to express milk for my twins who were in the incubator for the first few weeks of their life. I surely give my hats off to Noemi who had the motivation to do it and has a beautiful experience to tell.
Manila’s World Food Expo (WOFEX) finished its four-day run at the World Trade Center recently. I went on the second day, and it was a bad decision to be visiting before my work duty. There were just so many booths to see, and therefore countless food products to taste. The bad thing is that the expo seemed a tad too crowded and congested this year which took away the fun factor. Admission prices were also higher than last year.
I was able to buy a couple of fish products and ate an ample sausage sandwich from Treffpunkt deli. My eyes were caught by those edible custom-made chocolate playing cards from Theobroma (see picture). My friend, on the other hand, had fun photographing up close the flower decorations of a cake from a wedding company.
