So what did you think of The Mistress?
My cheap thrill of the week is watching it in Alabang Town Center (while the whole family went for Resident Evil). It was truly epic for me since I go to movie theaters every 10 months (!!!) The last Tagalog film I saw was “No Other Woman” and the only time it amused me was when Carmi Martin likened husband-grabbing women to snatchers in Quiapo. Actually Carmi, there are even more snatchers in the Malate area. Literally. We kid you not 🙂
Anyway, I liked the mistress. It’s way better than NOW coz it didn’t present the usual mistress stereotype. There were even parts which left me teary-eyed. Huhu. The beautiful Bea Alonzo just needed to feel more “passion” in her character. Am glad they didn’t choose Derek Ramsay coz he would really have looked smaller to Bea’s 5’8″ frame. John Lloyd perfectly played the part of the debonaire suitor. Kilig!
Of course, the ending was good enough to drive one nuts. It left some hanging questions: did they get married? or even worse: did Bea end up as John Lloyd’s mistress too?

” Di Lahat ng gusto mo, makukuha mo.” (Bea/Sari’s fave phrase in the movie)
“Tatagalugin ko para maintindihan mo” (said by Hilda Koronel who played the aggrieved wife))
” I know am a damn better lover!” (said by John Lloyd. Oops, dahil ba ang tanda na ni Ronaldo Valdez? LOL)
“Ang daming dahilan para hindi kita mahalin. Pero may isang dahilan para ‘di ko magawa yun. Mahal kita. Yun lang yun.” (said by JLC) PAK!
