Top designer Rajo Laurel recently launched his colourful summer bag collection, Athletenique, in cooperation with social enterprise-cum-fashion brand Rags2Riches (R2R) at the Ayala Museum. Rajo designed, and empowered artisans from community-based groups across the country meticulously weaved the bags from sustainable fabrics. Aranaz launches Mercato bag for Rags2Riches
The Mercato bag, a stylized market basket designed by Amina Aranaz-Alunan was recently launched at Members Only in the Fort. What makes this bag significant is that they were made by the poor women of Payatas under the Rags2Riches social business enterprise. I've seen a similar bag design before by Rajo Laurel and I was certainly impressed with the way they have turned scraps and recycled materials into a thing of beauty. Shalani Soledad to wear Rajo Laurel gown at President Noy’s inauguration
Photo via Rajo Laurel on Twitter Valenzuela City Councilor Shalani Soledad will wear a yellow gown made by leading designer Rajo Laurel during the historic inauguration of her boyfriend Noynoy Aquino on June 30, 2010. We caught on Twitter this picture of Shalani fitting the gown, presumably in Rajo Laurel's Makati atelier. Fans were quick to say she looks lovely in the gown, which is really a terno, a Filipino costume popularized by former First Lady Imelda Marcos. The color of choice is of course yellow.
