After the oversupply of nursing students - some of whom have found themselves jobless and unable to leave the country, until the next demand wave occurs - culinary courses are getting to be the next popular choice. I know of a lot of friends whose sons or daughters want to go to culinary school. One of the reasons is probably the field's glamorization brought about by the rise of celebrity chefs (think Jamie Oliver) and reality competition shows like Top Chef.
