Sugar Factory American Brasserie is the latest foreign restaurant chain to set up shop in Manila and is now open at the ground level High Street Park of Shangri-La at the Fort in Bonifacio Global City (BGC).
The resto is an import from Las Vegas and New York City where it has gained celebrity status because of its couture lollipops, sizzling candy-themed cocktails and good old comfort food.
Everything’s unique and is a must-try!

The owners of the Sugar Factory franchise in Manila are Chrizette Gutierrez, Fergus Lao, Nina Lao, April Pascual and Roman Mojica. Here, they’re shown showing off the liquor-infused goblets which makes Sugar Factory the only place in Manila to offer these…
The cocktails in focus: Lollipop Passion (P1600) – a wonderful mix of melon, coconut and pineapple; Ocean Blue (P900) and Passion Punch (P800). We noticed that these drinks don’t come cheap but they’re good for sharing and will arrive bubbling on the table.
Even though Sugar Factory seeks to attract the bar crowd with their eye catching concoctions, the resto offers sumptuous American fare in generous portions.
The Big Cheesy Burger (P695) is made of angus beef patty then topped with melted white cheddar, creamy mac & cheese and bacon on a toasted potato bun. Sinful but totally delicious!
The Chicken Parmesan (P420) was tasty and more than decent. It came with a side of rigatoni in tomato sauce.
The house Chinese chicken salad (P440) has mixed greens, fresh cilantro, water chestnuts and roasted peanuts among other things, in a ginger sesame dressing.
The tomato bruschetta (P280) is another healthy fare one can order in Sugar Factory….because they’re not all sweets 🙂
The all-day breakfast fare was highly satisfying. Try the Red Velvet Pancakes and Banana Split Waffles (P420) topped with fresh bananas, strawberries, melted chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. Each serving also comes with extra dark and white chocolate sauce and maple syrup to drizzle over the treat.
For dessert, we were served the chocolate cake (P340) and white chocolate cheesecake (P415). I was happy cos it tasted like the real thing….
However, the King Kong Sundae is The Bomb! (P2,900). It’s described in the menu as being filled with 24 Scoops of ice cream covered with hot fudge, caramel and strawberry sauce, sliced bananas, toasted marshmallows, Reeses’s pieces, chocolate chip cookies, crushed waffle cones, gummi bears, white chocolate, strawberry shavings and toasted walnuts with whipped cream, plus giant lollipops. Naturally, I was reminded of New Year when they lighted up the sparklers in the bowl. Cheers!
Sugar Factory opened only last September 19 and I wasn’t able to check if they have their famous Couture Pops available. They come in a plastic case you can store your lollipop in..cool idea. No wonder, celebrities like Britney Spears, Kim Kardashian and Eva Longoria, among others, have been seen carrying them in Hollywood and beyond.
