SLICE in Bonifacio High Street Central

My week has been busy with lunches and dinners. And it seems most of them are centered on the newest place in town to explore your culinary palate further … Bonifacio High Street Central in Bonifacio Global City (just across the huge store of R.O.X.)

For a product launch, I was glad to dine at SLICE – the resto of Sen. Pia Cayetano. Ambiance was, overall, bright and cheery. The prices aren’t bad either – you can enjoy coffee and cake for a little less than P200. Our friend Franco told me not to miss the yema chocolate cupcake (P70 each). The condensada/dulce de leche frosting was a bit too sweet for me but I must admit it looks so pretty! 🙂

The trip of dips served with melba toast (P250) was a fitting meal-starter. It was composed of anchovy butter, crusted cream cheese and spinach and mushroom. This is the perfect dish when you are trying to catch up on conversation with friends. Not too heavy.

The thick tomato soup lived up to its name. It was really chunky! This soup is for those who love the authentic taste of pureed tomatoes, and it was tasty too. Maybe I had enough of the hors d’ ouevres or too much tomatoes overwhelm me. I wasn’t able to finish this one.

I loved this cranberry, apple & chicken salad (P290). Maybe because I found the sweetish cranberry dressing refreshing. We don’t always have this in the office cafeteria 🙂

The seafood puttanesca is for those who love shrimps and salmon in their pasta. The creamy sauce had a good taste. I just hated it that the fettucini noodles were overdone.

The barbecue chicken rice melt (P390) reminded me of those served in Hong Kong restaurants. My seatmate said she liked this food. I guess I still have to enjoy eating my rice with melted cheese on top.

I love their idea of serving coffee on a wooden board, with accompanying granola. Did I tell you this is one place to hang out on lazy Sunday afternoons? 😉
