New York City’s famous Shake Shack will be opening its first restaurant in the Philippines in the first quarter of 2019, with the rumor mill pointing to Bonifacio Global City (BGC) as the first location.
Shake Shack Manila will be under the stewardship of the SSI Group, the same company behind the local Starbucks, TWG and SaladStop, among others.
Manila will be the fourth Shake Shack franchise to open in Asia, after Tokyo, Seoul and Hong Kong. Shake Shack first opened as a hotdog stand in New York’s Madison Square Park….
It became phenomenally successful and launched its IPO in 2015. Aside from the original hotdogs, the Shake Shack menu includes Angus beef burgers and chicken burgers, milkshakes, fries, wine and frozen custard ice cream.
Shake Shack’s price points are a bit on the expensive side. Let’s see how the Philippine market will react to the newest entrant in the restaurant scene come next year!
