One of the events I attended last week was the annual Samsung AV Roadshow held at the Crowne Plaza Galleria. It was my turn to ogle at what the Korean electronics giant had to offer in terms of TVs, cameras and other gadgets for 2011.
The new line-up of Smart TVs is simply awesome. Imagine being able to Facebook right in your living room, then share whatever you’re watching with your close FB friends. The TVs are smart enough to recommend videos based on your viewing habits.
The TVs are good for Skype-ing too (that’s me on the screen taking a photo). Just plug the Samsung Skype camera into your Samsung flat panel TV and you’re ready to make voice and video calls with Skype.
A newspaper journalist & I were seriously eyeing the SH100, a 14.2 megapixel digicam with wifi that retails for about P10,000. It instantly sends your photos to Facebook, Picasa or Photobucket and you can even write your caption or message using the built-in keyboard. It’s neat!
Samsung’s new high-end camera, NX11, looked great too. We were impressed with its Panorama feature where one can take landscape or group shots at 180 degrees using just one press and sweep motion with the cam.
Also take a look at the Samsung Notebook Series 9 which was launched recently through a fashion show at The Peninsula Manila.
With a screen size of 13 inches, this is Samsung’s thinnest notebook with a depth of 16.33 mm or 0.64 inches and weight of 1.31 kg.
