Am majorly, majorly envious. But my friend, Inquirer’s business reporter The Doris Dumlao gladly shared these photos of Robert De Niro in a press con in Manila this morning. Swoon, swoon, swoon… if only because De Niro is one of the greatest Hollywood actors of our time!
He’s already 70 years old but the star appeal is ageless. Who didn’t grow up without watching a classic Robert De Niro film?
My favorite line: “There are three ways of doing things around here: the right way, the wrong way and the way that I do it.” – Casino (1995)

Anyway, proving that Manila (and the Philippines!) will be a HOT destination in the next few years…. De Niro and Ho are not the only biggies who flew into town for the press conference held at the National Museum. This picture also shows Australia’s richest man James Packer (seated far left, now romantically linked to supermodel Miranda Kerr), celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa, and Hollywood producer Meir Teper, among others.
The journalists in the group are lucky….no blogger? LOL. Aside from Doris (far right, standing) I spot the Bulletin’s Bernie Magkilat and Anton San Diego of Philippine Tatler.
De Niro and Chef Nobu flew into town for the launch of Asia’s first Nobu Hotel which will be located in The City of Dreams Manila, the hotel & integrated gaming resort complex owned by Ho, Packer and the SM Group of taipan Henry Sy which will open in the latter part of 2014.
Nobu Hotels, where De Niro is an investor, is presently located in Las Vegas; Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; and opening soon in Bahrain, London and City of Dreams, Manila.

Its because belle corp is the owner of the land and building. Melco crown on the other hand is the one leasing the building few months back. Melco crown will be the operator of belle grande manila bay. Belle corp is only the owner and melco crown is the tenant. So melco crown has a big net loss as of this time.
