During the few trips I made in Cebu, I always made it a point to eat in Rico’s Lechon. Their perfectly roasted version makes you appreciate the meat for what it’s worth. Here’s something from my archives about what we ordered two years ago, and it’s making me salivate now. Fish kinilaw, pomelo salad and of course, lechon 🙂
Then somebody on the popular Facebook group Let’s Eat Pare posted a photo about Rico’s Lechon opening in the Fort Strip Bonifacio Global City in July and suddenly a lot of people got excited.
There’s nothing else to say folks except that…IT’s TRUE! Rico’s Lechon is not only opening in The Fort but also other places in Manila.
According to the official announcement that was sent our way, Rico’s Lechon will soon have branches in Tiendesitas and
Portico Pasig City, Glorietta Makati, Cloverleaf Mall & UP Town Center in Quezon City, Ayala Feliz Marikina, Ayala Macapagal and Blue Bay Walk, Pasay . That’s a total of 9 stores/restaurants in all.

The Manila expansion is happening after Rico’s was acquired by Meat Concepts Corporation, the same company that owns and operates Ogawa Traditional Japanese Restaurant, KPub BBQ, Thai BBQ, OPPA Chicken, Modern China and Tony Roma’s.
Meat Concepts Corp. President George Pua said “I’ve been a patron of Rico’s Lechon for years and personally believe it’s the best. We want to be able to have Cebuanos take pride in sharing this with the rest of the country, and eventually the world.”
The former owners, who are close friends with Pua, will be hands on during the transition period to maintain the quality of food and service that Rico’s Lechon is known for.
