Christmas is probably the best time of the year when Filipinos celebrate with food! Whether it’s Noche Buena, office parties or the good, old family reunion, the holiday season revolves around food, and more food. This is also the time when moms like me are most stressed. The traffic, the long lines in the supermarket, all the sweat and stress preparing food in the kitchen for visitors.
There are three top tips I can give to fellow women on staying sane in this toxic season:
1. Practice time management. Learn to weed out unnecessary tasks and distractions.
2. Learn to delegate. You simply can’t do it alone babe.
3. Delegate by way of technology. You know the drill. There are mobile apps right now which can make our life 10x easier. This is the big advantage of being a mom/career woman in this day and age. My single, best unsolicited advice is: use technology to the fullest.
In connection with the last advice, thank God there’s a service like Honestbee which can do the work for us. Last November 16, they invited us bloggers for a preview and sampling of their Christmas 2018 offerings. I met no less than The Bee himself, hehe
Honestbee’s roster is impressive and mind-boggling considering all the high-quality choices. They have more than a hundred vendors on their list! But anyway…nothing to complain about! 😀 No need to struggle with long lines in the stores when you have to bring bilao and platters to the usual potluck.
The pork hamonado and pansit with lechon kawali from Bandeja are a winner. It’s a sister catering company of the famous Aling Banang’s eatery in San Juan. Check them out at @bandejaph on Instagram or find them on the Honestbee app and click the order button 😉
For those gatherings with an Asian touch, Wu’s Kitchen’s flavorful roasts are worth trying. They also have dimsum assortment and of course the indispensable Peking duck.
The Sushi Cake from Rolls Republic looks like it can be the centerpiece at the party table…
For parties with international fare, roasted vegetables, kebabs and Greek specialties from Cyma are sure to add an elegant touch, not to mention they’re healthy….
There are a few lechon vendors on Honestbee and one of the few notable ones is General’s Lechon. I like their garlic-flavored cardiac delight, lol. The lechons are sure to be a bestseller because a Pinoy gathering is sometimes judged by their presence on the table 😀
Save the best for last! Honestbee gathered together the famous bakers of Inquirer’s Best Desserts so they’re now more reachable to app users. Look out for the irresistible treats from Cuerva Bakeshop, NIC’S, Valerie’s Kitchen, What’s Cookin’ Kitchenette, Marie Bakery, Ann Puno’s Kitchen, Gigi Gaerlan Homemade Desserts, and many more.
There’s also bibingka, puto bumbong, kakanin from Sally’s and artisanal ice cream from Fog City Creamery. People with a sweet tooth will definitely be spoiled for choices!
But actually, it’s not just about the food. Christmas, after all, is associated with gifts. There are gift baskets from chain stores like Robinsons Supermarkets for those who are feeling like Santa and would like to delight their friends, family and loved ones with these…
There’s also stuff for the kids. Some of the merchants include Hamleys, Hobbes & Landes and Plush and Play.
To get hold of all these treats, download the Honestbee app on iOS and Google Play. The Christmas offerings are now easily seen on the app’s home page. Happy holidays everyone!

I love HonestBee! On weekends, I prefer to just stay at home to rest and recharge so I often have food or groceries delivered at home. Super convenient, plus they always have promos. 🙂
