Just when I thought I went to heaven with the pizza, there was an even bigger nirvana in the form of this Porchetta Marsala (P750). It’s roasted sucking pig roll infused with wine, with a siding of vegetables. The skin was crunchy and the meat was flavorful. Plus, I liked the addition of the cannellini beans and the blanched spinach to make this sinful dish part of a balanced diet. LOL
We also had the Granchio con Ricci which was spaghetti with cream, crab meat and roasted tomatoes. Flavor was rather mild, or maybe I already had sensory overload from the pizza and porchetta? I would like to try their other pasta dishes next time.
Two kinds of dessert for our meal-ender: the tiramisu and the Dolci al Cioccolato (chocolate cake with vanilla cream,P350), both deserving of an encore.
Overall, I loved Raffaele for its great food and scenic ambiance. I would now vote for this resto as one of the best places to go on a date in Manila or just to hang out … savor the Old Walls and the greenery by day, or gaze at the starlit sky at night.
…. and sip some wine from their extensive collection while you’re at it.
