For as low as P9,995, you can now introduce your child to the world of robots. The most basic model is the TankBot Kit which includes everything you need to build TankBot. It moves on treads, and has an infrared sensor that allows it to detect objects to pick up or move around them.
UBTECH Robotics, a globally-known company dealing with artificial intelligence has introduced a new line of Jimu Robots for Pinoy kids and teens via its official distributor in the Philippines, Banbros Commercial Inc. The toys were presented during the World of Consumer Electronics Expo held in Manila last weekend.
Aside from TankBot, also available are:
1. Astrobot Kit (SRP 14,995) – It has 3 pre-designed characters: AstroBot, Rover,
and Astron. Kit already includes 5 servos, 1 sensor, 1 speaker and 2 LED. The customized design gives your child free rein to use his or her imagination to invent their own robotic creation.
2. BuzzBot and MuttBot Kit (SRP 13,995) – Comes with everything needed to
build the BuzzBot or MuttBot robots including six smooth motion robotic servo motors
and 260 snap-together interlocking parts and connectors.
The Jimu robots are deemed perfect for those enrolled in the STEM curriculum in schools. They build such skills as problem-solving, 3D hands-on engineering, logical, lateral & spatial thinking, among others.

During the World of Consumer Electronics Expo, UBTech also introduced the Alpha1 Pro. It is a household programmable humanoid robot that can be used for education and entertainment. Its life-like human movements make him a member of the family. You can dance with him, play sports or teach him to tell stories to your children. It’s priced at Php 39,999 in key retailers mentioned earlier.
