If you got time, catch the graduation exhibit of the Philippine School of Interior Design (PSID) Advanced Class of 2010, which runs from October 3-31 2010, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m, at the Athena Building, Eastwood City, Libis, Quezon City.
It’s an exhibit I look forward to every year, even if, sometimes, I just look at the designs in magazines and newspapers. There’s something about a room when it’s professionally planned and laid out. Reason why I even get a kick out of visiting model units of condos and gaping at how interior designers often do magic out of a shoebox of spaces.
This year’s theme is all about colors. Color unifies the design booths, which take the audience through the vibrant spectrum of hues in the color wheel. Each booth focuses on a single hue, using tints and shades to bring out the sophistication of the interiors.
Here are some of my favorites from the upcoming exhibit (photos via Press Inc.) :
The Tomato Room by Coco Martinez, Karen Lopez, June Park, VJ Sta. Maria, Marjorie Jalos – A red-orange kitchen that is characterized by rounded corners and circular shapes throughout the whole unit.
The Chartreuse Room by Mel Andrew Chan, Franz Lasco, Kylie Cuizon – a deconstructivist kitchen in bright, yellow-green color harmonizing wood with stainless steel and glass accents.
The Heliotrope room by Karen Mendoza, Bursley Co, Ronaldo Espedido, and Marjorie Francisco. Classic yet modern bedroom with a variety of textures and patterns: walls treated with felt and distressed paint, brocade patterned upholstery, and a cascading chandelier.
The rest of the 18 booths are: Saffron, Sunflower, Avocado, Sage, Cerulean, Turquoise, Indigo, Cornflower, Midnight, Aubergine, Cerise, Sang de Boeuf, Cinnabar, Persimmon, and Cinnamon.

Wow! The Tomato kitchen would definitely inspire any homeowners to spend more time in their kitchen. Great colors. Thumbs up to PSID!
