Did you know that the Philippines holds the Guinness Book of World Records for the biggest Zumba class? We made the record way back in 2016 with more than 12,900 Zumba dancers in attendance.
Now that it’s 2018, the country will beat its own record and this time the target is 20,000 people participating. The feat is being spearheaded by the local government of Camarines Sur under Gov. Migz Villafuerte.Come May 19 in Cam Sur, a day-long Zumba event hopes to gather 20,000 Zumba enthusiasts and thereupon propel the Philippines to the Guinness Book of World Records again.
Prime Zumba instructor Ron Antonio will be at the forefront of the stage, and he will be joined by 100 other ZINs coming from other parts of the country.
There are reports that other countries are trying to beat the Philippines’ Zumba record but they will probably have a hard time considering the widespread popularity of Zumba here and the enthusiasm of the Philippine population for the dance sport.
Meanwhile, save the date: May 19 in CamSur. Complete details to be announced soon.
