Parque Espana Residence Hotel in Alabang is kinda off the radar but some people would consider it a boon that it’s in a quiet, still uncrowded location. Also, the area of this hotel is fast developing. There are big outlets of McDonalds & Jollibee nearby and it’s just across Commercenter building with its hip row of new bars & restaurants.
So yes, this made us happy campers here two weeks ago. Our five-year old Lucia was the happiest. She’s really loving these weekend staycations and excitedly expects it to be a regular occurrence. Said she: “We’re doing this every two weeks, right?” LOL. Way to go girl!
We stayed in a two-bedroom suite that was really spacious. Two bedrooms, two toilets & bath, a working area, living room and dining room. Surprisingly, the rates are cheaper for the weekend (about P6,300++).
Bedroom No. 2 had a smaller bed…
The toilet was basic. This suite would be perfect, if it wasn’t missing a bath tub!
Because of its ample size, this hotel should be ideal when you’re celebrating a big gathering for family and friends. It’s a plus that the room already has cooking equipment, microwave oven, plates and cutlery.
But since we were just on a short stay, we opted to eat out.
The rooftop pool was another thing my daughter enjoyed immensely in Parque Espana.
It had this gazebo which transformed into a bar at night…
The view!
When in hotels, I never fail to check out the gym and Parque Espana had one. Though I never got to exercise, I found the equipment to be up to par.
On our second day, I excitedly woke up for breakfast in Bistro del Cielo which is their in-house restaurant. Like the swimming pool, it was located on the 19th floor.
The breakfast buffet didn’t disappoint. Nice selections for a meal for two that came with the room. I was told that they also offer breakfast in the hotel lobby but the choices there are a few.
The lobby was quite small and adjoined a coffeeshop called The Coffee Kitchen. On the day of our visit, I noticed that there were a lot of local residents checking in. Since the area is quite isolated, the free shuttle going to the malls like Alabang Town Center was much appreciated.
The traveler tip I can give is to book for the newly-renovated rooms. I read the reviews that the older rooms look quite “dated.” Overall, we had a very satisfactory stay and found this hotel to be a gem in this part of Alabang. We skipped room service and I loved that I can just walk the road and be in Commercenter… Cocohut & Army Navy are open 24/7 here, haha. Am glad to discover another hotel that the family can stay in and this early, am already thinking of booking it for the Christmas holidays 2015. I could prepare our noche buena right here 🙂
