I attended my first Rotary Club meeting at a five-star hotel last night, and only because my padrino has been inviting me to join for the longest time.It was not bad, I am actually looking forward to joining a prestigious organization.I believe I have reached a stage in my life where I should share my talents and serve the greater community. In the past seven months, the only thing I've done was give away my old TV set and component to my indigent neighbors in Pasay.I would definitely like to do more.Jun, the Rotary Club president, apprised me that there are three main ... Blogging and/or Journalism?
Blogging is definitely far from being juvenile. A closer look will reveal a lot of intelligent blogs in cyberspace ( and I am not talking of Washingtonniene). It's a different medium altogether, to the point that it's even being used in the present US presidential campaign. Having been a journalist, I was challenged by a question posed by NYU Department of Journalism faculty member Jay Rosen on whether or not blogging is journalism. I am mighty sure there is strong debate on the subject since journalists would think of themselves as an entirely different clique ... Continue Reading...
Thoughts from a Virgin Blogger
My life has not taken on a normal course since I started this blog a few days ago. Suddenly, I am obsessed with knowing so much about the blogosphere in so little time. I am learning but I can only take so much of wysiwg, site feeds, atom, RSS, hyperlinks and all that stuff. It was almost 5 p.m. and he was supposed to take a pic of me with the famous Manila Bay sunset on the background. Alas, the sun hid behind the clouds. We had fun nonetheless, it was completely no-fuss and I wasn't even waearing any make-up. Thanks, Godfrey! ... Continue Reading...
Encounter with a masseur
I have watched macho dancers in a gay bar and watched the same breed of macho dancers gyrating in a hotel room "bridal shower." That was all "for experience." Little did I know that today, I would choose to be massaged by a male attendant, a.k.a. masseur. It all started when I went to my spa aching for my monthly Swedish thing. After a few minutes of waiting at the reception area, the man in charge would come back telling me the bad news: I would have to wait for 20 minutes because the female attendants were fully booked. It must been borne out of my ... Continue Reading...
