Hotpot Hapones. This photo probably doesn't give justice to the delicious lunch I had today. But at 11:30 this morning, I felt this intense craving for some filling soup..not nilaga or sinigang but shabu-shabu. Thankfully, I was able to convince my officemates to go with me and try this place near our new office building, the Lau Chan Hotpot on Mabini St. You know the place is authentic because it is simply teeming with the Chinese who gulp their soup with so much gusto, you can almost see them sweat.I thought shabu-shabu is Korean but is originally Japanese and ... The Rule of Four
I know, i know, this is almost like a Friendster survey. But I hate writing about boring, depressing topics so I answered this to amuse myself. It's actually a take-off from one local celebrity's blog:Four names you go by:1. Anna2. AJ (circa 90's)3. Juju (circa 80's)4. Nallen (as my mom/sis would call me)Four things you like about yourself:1. My honesty2. My sense of humor3. My passion for life and living4. Being Superwoman!Four things that annoy you:1. Revisiting ‘Desiderata’
This has been a terrible week. I feel that my body is frail and dying but I have to report for work and perform my motherly duties, every single day. It has not been easy fighting my demons but as always, I succeed in effecting a facade of invincibility.I realize now that I have such high tolerance for pain, physical and emotional. I am almost a masochist without meaning to be one. I am not a doormat but sometimes I ask if I am destined to be drawn to this person who hurts me by his sheer indifference or to circumstances which never fail to test my fortitude and my ... When love is forever
Scene from 'The Notebook', .I bought The Notebook paperback five years ago but only got to read it over the weekend in preparation for watching the movie of the eponymous title. After doing both, I am of the opinion that both works are not as outstanding as my favorite "Message in a Bottle." But "The Notebook" is still worth reading/watching if only for the realization that true love is not a rare commodity but is still possible, in this day and age. When we are young and healthy,we take love for granted and segregate it behind our careers and other carefree concerns. We ... Net illusions
My online friend Paul, a surfer from Hawaii in search of an Asian woman to settle down with, is aghast at the fact that he keeps on falling for fag hags in cyberspace. He doesn't know it until somebody tells him they are. Paul tells me the first time, the girl he was seriously chatting with, turned up on this site. Last week, he excitedly tells me, there's a new girl he's fond of who comes from Southern Philippines and "is really good-looking." He sends me the pics (I am glad to be a juror of his choices)and as soon as it downloads, I study it and say ... Continue Reading...
