A few months ago, this humble space announced the holding of the Crazy for Crocs online video challenge. Time indeed flies so fast because the competition has ended and its wake are happy, contented winners who are holding their high-ticket prizes just in time for Christmas, thanks to Crocs. Congratulations are in order to the following monthly winners of P100,00 each: Jeric Herrera, Jamielyn Ira Dy and Kimberly Tan. A YUMMY dinner at Tosca, Dusit Thani Manila
I have been a fan of the local YUMMY Magazine for the longest time. I always make it a point to buy the latest issue from the nearest Ministop or 7-Eleven, and have gotten a kick from trying out some of the recipes as well. I have just one complaint from this magazine: viewing its pages never fail to make me hungry. The pictures seem to leap from the confines of colorful paper and ink, looking ready to be eaten! My friends agree as well :D That is why when the invite from Yummy came for their media Christmas dinner (thanks Fran and Ro!), I was excited to attend. The ... Continue Reading...
Latest service from Cebu Pacific: a Travel Fund for cancelled, rebooked and rescheduled flights
Most passengers find it a hassle to rebook, reschedule or even cancel their flights. But a new service from Cebu Pacific solves the problem by giving travelling Juans new options. The Travel Fund works like a cellphone load or virtual wallet where flyers can store the value of their unused airline tickets, to be credited for later use. Also under the airline's new rules, a person who is unable to use his/her airline ticket can now transfer it to another person, but will be charged with the ... Continue Reading...
Canoe Beach Resort & Punta de Uian in Zambales
A stay in any of the beach resorts in Pundaquit (also spelled Pundakit), San Antonio, Zambales is a must if you're going island-hopping around Capones, Camara and Anawangin, Cove. The number of resorts in the area has really grown and expect a few being built to reach completion as the area becomes a must-visit beach destination. In the days of the US bases, San Antonio was the site of the US military's San Miguel Naval Communication Station, and even Anawangin was just their practice grounds then. Our tour guide billetted us at the Canoe Beach Resort. I have no ... Continue Reading...
US Embassy Manila updates travel warning for Mindanao
If there's one thing in common that the US State Department (through the US Embassy) and the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office share, it's the fact that their travel advisories to their citizens contain travel warnings for Mindanao. In a parallel post in Barrio Siete, I've pointed out how the travel advisory by two influential countries in the world has dire implications for Philippine tourism and investments. It's a pity that a region which boasts of the richest, most unspoiled tourism spots in the country suffers from negative first impressions, simply because ... Continue Reading...
