I love Watsons! I like the variety of the place..the fact that they both have well-known high-street and generic brands, with prices that range from luxurious to mid-range and super cheap! Anyway, when Watsons invited for an event that Saturday, I really had to free up my schedule because it was a chance to spend an afternoon in one of my favorite places in the universe. And not only that, model and celebrity Patty Laurel-Filart would be there to play the role of the friendly Watsons lady. We immediately spotted the very pregnant Patty talking to this customer. ... Just because it’s Friday: new ways to cook with monggo
Somebody told me: monggo (mung beans) is the new superfood. But unlike quinoa, chia, flax seeds and other nutrient boosters, monggo doesn't have the fancy price. It is very affordable and readily available in your neighborhood stores and markets. In the Philippines, tradition dictates that we have at least a monggo dish every Friday to pair with fish or meat. Where to eat, what we ate in Naga City
It's a given: I love going to the Visayas for its beaches, the North for its mixture of landscapes and Bicol...I would always come back for its food. They happen to have my favorite cuisine in the Philippines :) Way back in 2012, I wrote about 'What we ate in Bicol'...it was kinda bitin because that was just Legaspi City. So here's the second installment, and this time I try to scour the food scene in Naga. It was truly alive with lots of value for money, excellent restaurants. When in town, don't miss out on the putong bagas which is sold as a street food. A ... Continue Reading...
Stonehouse Gardens Resort in Naga City
Th girls and I went to the Bicol region over the Labor Day weekend. We didn't really know anybody there but I wanted to go there again for the food and some places to be discovered. It was Legaspi City in 2012 and now the pitstop was Naga. Our five year old Lucia managed to endure the nine-hour overnight trip, thanks to the comfy Lazyboy chairs of the Penafrancia bus company. Fare was P1,100 one way. Once in Naga City, we were really excited about going to the Stonehouse Gardens Resort and true enough, the view was so refreshing with all the greenery. Exact ...
