When it comes to places to go near Manila, those scenic Batangas beach resorts come to mind, specially Eagle Point Resort which is the oldest and biggest in the diving town of Anilao, Mabini, Batangas. Would you believe this sprawling property is already 30 years old? Its classic design touches never looks outdated and the fact that it still looks elegant after all these years is a testament to its timelessness.
If you’re just an ordinary tourist like me and not a diver, Eagle Point Resort’s main selling point is its sweeping sea views which overlooks the property and I guess nobody can really beat Mother Nature in the looks department. We’ve been to Eagle Point in both sunny and rainy weather but the views remain spectacular.
The second best thing are their facilities which fits both old and young alike. They have three swimming pools in their spacious area which wins points in terms of being family-friendly. My youngest daughter Lucia particularly likes the swimming pool with a slide in the main grounds. She’s always had fun there ever since she started using it way back in 2014.
There is also a reef pool for those who like to learn diving. For those who like to marvel at life underwater, diving lessons are priced at a little more than three thousand pesos. The resort has a dive shop complete with diving paraphernalia for this purpose.
There’s a lot of activities one can engage in, especially for those who love being in a marine paradise. One can go fishing, snorkeling, kayaking and take a banana boat ride. There’s also a game room for indoor fun with friends.
In-house guests can even go to a separate island named Sepoc Beach which is a beautiful on its own and only a 20-minute boat ride away. Sepoc Beach is a popular venue for team-building by top companies and is exclusively owned by the resort. Too bad we were not able to go here because of the weather but looking forward to next time. It is one of those hidden gems to discover near Manila!
Anyway, for our overnight visit, we stayed in a deluxe room designed with sophisticated native touches and actually had lots of space. Kids can even run around. But the best feature was the balcony with sea views from where one can smell the fresh breeze.
Our meals were spent at the Eagle’s Nest restaurant which offered an array of local and international dishes. There’s also an adjoining bar from where one can enjoy beers, cocktails and those after-dinner drinks.
I made a short video which sums up our stay in Eagle Point Resort and I hope you enjoy 🙂
HOW TO GO TO EAGLE POINT. I think it is best to go here using a private vehicle. Drive from Manila was only three hours using the STAR Tollway. I used Waze to find the place and entering the property alone was more than a kilometer distance already.
Interested parties can also coordinate with the resort for a possible pick-up with the shuttle using the resort number: 0917 846 39 58
