So today, I’m writing this review about my experience with Home Credit. I first heard about Home Credit Philippines from my friend Lisa. She’s a typical government employee who knows all the possible loan sources from where she can spend her next salary or bonus.
I thought Home Credit was a real estate lending firm but Lisa told me, no! Home Credit is a consumer financing company catering to people with little to no credit history. Lisa tells me it’s here where one can avail of easy, simple and fast loans for small to big-ticket items like cellphones and appliances without the need of a credit card.
A check with the HCP website showed me that its financing services are already available in most provinces in Luzon. To date, it has more than 1,400 partner-stores, including leading retailers like SM and Robinsons.
So I was walking with my kids in Market Market that day and chanced upon the Huawei store on the third level. To my surprise, it also offered Home Credit installment plans! Most of my blogger-friends are now using the Huawei P9 phone with the Leica cam. Am seriously eyeing the P9 but the price tag of P23,990 is quite expensive for anyone. So I figured that this would be the right time to inquire about a Home Credit loan for my dream phone 🙂
Luckily, there was a Home Credit staff on standby at the Huawei store to entertain any inquiries. You can spot them because they’re wearing the company shirt with logo. Anyway, the staff named Jun was very helpful to me when I asked him about the requirements for availing of a Home Credit loan.
He said the requirements are the following:
– one must be a Filipino citizen
– Age range of 18 to 68
– Must be employed for at least 3 months, or owns a business, is a pensioner and receiving regular remittance
– Must be able to show two valid IDs.
The first one must be a valid ID like PRC or driver’s license, passport, voter’s ID, SSS, GSIS or the new UMID or Unified Multi-Purpose ID.
The second ID must be any document that show’s the loan applicant’s current address. Acceptable IDs are billing statements, barangay and NBI clearance, bank statement, certificate of employment, plus some others.
After going through the checklist, I realized that am very well qualified to avail of simple and easy loan from Home Credit. I began filling out the application form in earnest and afterwards, Jun asked me some questions as to what I wrote in the form.
He told me that all information provided is treated with utmost confidentiality. Then, he added that the average decision time for the loan is 15 minutes, although some people can get approved in as fast as 5 minutes. To increase the chances of a positive decision, it is paramount that one fills out all items in the form truthfully. And of course, having a good record also helps one’s loan application to be approved in a fast, hassle-free manner.
To cut a long story short, I got a new mobile phone because I was approved for a loan by Home Credit! It took me only an hour max – 20 minutes to fill up the application form, 15 minutes to be interviewed by Jun, another 15 minutes to wait for my loan approval, and 10 minutes to check out my new phone…pretty amazing! The full details when I write about my new phone in a next post… coming soon!
Look for Home Credit in major telecoms and appliances stores now. I highly recommend them.
