Any music lover will agree that Marshall is a big name when it comes to speakers and amplifiers. I was surprised to learn that some of my favorite artists/ rock groups from those glory days of the 80s to 90s (when I was still 101% hooked on music) all used Marshall. These include Oasis, Blur, Nirvana, Guns N’ Roses, Bon Jovi, Billy idol, Aerosmith..to name just a few!
The legend lives on, and the Philippines is lucky that Marshall is strengthening its presence here with the introduction of new products. If you have yet to try the brand, we suggest that you go to the stores (full list at the end of this post) to check out the sound quality. It is impressive enough that am now thinking of spending my midyear bonus on one of these..whew.
The Acton Speaker is really cute, but looks can be deceiving because this thing packs a punch. The Acton stands out for its deep bass sounds and the presence of custom control 3 analogue interaction knobs. This feature allows the listener to explore many different combinations until he achieves the music level and quality he desires. Official price of the Acton is P15,950.
The Marshall Woburn, on the other hand, gives justice to the name ‘loudspeaker.’ With its high treble, low-bass and powerful midrange, you can set it to low or the highest of highs as you wish and expect it to deliver accurately within the frequency range. This ‘built to thrill’ device that also boasts of Bluetooth connectivity costs P28,500.
For those who put a premium on their ‘me’ time, Marshall also unveiled two kinds of headphones. The Marshall Mode and Mode EQ both offer the following features: unique in-ear design for a comfortable fit, customised drivers that deliver high-output sound at minimal distortion, and a wire clip with remote that easily attaches the headphones to a shirt.
The Mode, which comes in black with white brass, retails for P3,150. The Mode EQ, which offers a couple of sound customisation choices, is available for P4,450.It comes in black with a gold brass design.
Anyway, we really enjoyed this Marshall launch held in Beyond the Box, Century Mall. Some of the die-hard music aficionados among the bloggers brought old concert tickets, classic vinyls, an old cassette tape and signed copies of records….
Proclaimed winner was Carlo Samson who came out with signed drum sticks of the legendary Juan de la Cruz band. He got to bring home the Acton #InggitMuch
