Paris for Christmas is always a good idea, but since we can’t all be in the fabled City of Lights, have coffee and pastries like the Parisians do in the Nespresso Pop-Up Cafe in Powerplant Mall, Makati City. Here, they are introducing their limited edition Festive Coffees together with exquisite desserts whipped up by French-educated pastry chef Sunshine Puey in the pop-up LE Festive Gourmandise Café in Rockwell.
The first capsule variant is PARIS BLACK, espresso that combines notes of cereal and nuts with spicy and woody tones. The perfect pairing for this was Chef Sunshine’s Financier á la Framboise (Raspberry Financier), a rich almond brown butter cake with raspberries. This dessert blew me away, and am looking for the recipe now as we speak 😀
The next variant is PARIS MACARON, named after the famous French pastry, of course. This is a harmonious combination of the cereal notes of Nespresso Livanto with a subtle, sweet almond flavor. Best paired with Chef Sunshine’s Macaron Caramel BuerreSalé Avec Praline (Salted Caramel Macaron with Praline).
Lastly, there’s the PARIS PRALINE capsule variant, which combines the round flavor of Nespresso Livanto with roasted hazelnuts and the sweetness of caramel. Suggested pairing is the Choux Au Citron (Lemon Cream Puff), a classic French choux pastry filled with lemon pastry cream.
Nespresso Limited Edition Festive Coffees are available at the Nespresso Boutique, R1 Level, Power Plant Mall, Rockwell, Makati or the Nespresso Pop Up Store at the Ground Level of The Podium. You may also order online via www.nespresso.ph .
