Globe subscribers can continue redeeming handsets, movie passes, shopping and dining gift certificates and gadgets at 50 per cent off with the extension of the My Rewards My Globe promo until October 31, 2012 (Wednesday).
So far, hundreds of thousands of subscribers have used over 30 million points and enjoyed redeeming rewards at half the required points with the Globe Rewards Sale. Aside from the 50% discount, subscribers can also enjoy the program’s gifting feature where they can gift rewards to their friends and loved ones with a simple text, with the items delivered right at their doorsteps.
Also last week, Globe launched the first LTE data roaming service, initially partnering with China Mobile Hong Kong Company Limited and eventually with SK Telecom in Korea.
Globe President & CEO Ernest Cu revealed that they are “working with IPX providers Sybase, Aicent, Syniverse, Citic, Tata, and BICs to allow us to scale up our LTE roaming partnerships with operators from Australia, Singapore, US, Japan, Canada and the Middle East. We look forward to reaching these countries in the coming months.”

Globe was first to introduce 4G technology in the Philippines with the deployment of its WiMax network. In 2011, it introduced 4G Evolved High Speed Packet Access (HSPA=) network. This year, it’s LTE.
Globe’s 4G LTE network presently covers 45 sites in Makati City.It vows to quickly expand to cover regions across Manila, Cebu, Davao and other areas.
