2006 went by in such a dizzying fashion and in order to help me remember the year that just passed, I didn’t read through this blog, thank you. I decided to pore over the gallery of images taken from my digicam, camphone or Bluetooth-ed by another. Sharing with you some of my favorite images as they relate to my year, as well as the story behind the stories:
(From top left):
1) RH, my best friend and dining buddy for a quarter, whom I regard as one of the nicest guys I ever met. Photo taken in Manila’s Chinatown, August 2006. 2) The breathtaking sandbar in Us-usan Island, Guimaras Province. I was part of a Canon summer tour and our group had the whole beach to ourselves while a sumptuous seafood buffet was laid out on the beach. I felt like I was in paradise! 3) With legendary hairstylist Ricky Reyes at his Golden Sunset Resort in Calatagan, Batangas.I had to have a picture taken with (her) and I like this photo because this reminds me of my long hair 4) I took this photo of a bell with twin boats at the height of the noonday sun in Costa Aguada island Resort, Guimaras. I thought it looked naturally picturesque.
5) I took this photo of a colorful boat framed by the Hong Kong skyline while on a fast ferry to Kowloon from central. It was my first time in the territory last May 2006 and enjoyed it every step of the way. I never minded going by my lonesome to see the sights, and of course shop! 6) Huge photo in the middle is a tree by the serene Sampaloc Lake in San Pablo, Laguna adorned by what appears to be coconut husks. Somehow the photo turned out to be dramatic even though my 5mp cam was just in auto mode. 7) The splendor of the Banaue Rice Terraces,a world heritage site. On a trip to Banaue in June 2006, I was amazed by the number of these terraces in the whole area. Everywhere and from every angle I looked, there were these terraces!! How grand of our Ifugao ancestors to do so… 8.) Old Ifugao ladies posing in their native costumes. Just remember to give a tip because they earn a living that way. 9) My kids laughing their way during a trip to the mall. This is the year when the twins lost their two front teeth and Paolo learned how to cook his own meals. 10) A food trip with fellow bloggers and their close kin to this great Mexican resto called Zapata’s in Angeles City, Pampanga. 2006 was a busy year for blogger meet-ups as I met Japan-based Attina and Sachiko in Manila and other online buddies. 11) the busy hawker scene in Jalan Alor, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. I absolutely enjoyed this budget trip for the amazing food discoveries it afforded me along the way. Malaysian food ranks out there as one of the best! 12) My former nanny took this rather (ahermm) erotic photo of moi while staying with the whole family in Vivere Suites, Alabang. The Bubble Girl hopes she will still be this curvy and deluscious when she’s (gasp!) 40 😛 13) Food, food, food..I ended the year munchin’ on yummy food at The Legend Seafood Restaurant in CCP Complex.
There it goes….
