It’s the first month of 2019…are your resolutions on track? I know a lot of girls will resolve to be more beautiful and pay more attention to their personal appearance this year (hence the Pilipino term balik-alindog). But sometimes, this is easier said than done.
We all know that for any New Year’s resolution to work, you have to make time for it and you gotta take action. Enrol in that class, go to the gym. take that trip, save money etc.
Making time for important things was certainly hard to achieve during the Christmas rush. In this blog post, I outlined my experience with Biotulin, the low maintenance, anti-aging wonder gel that some power celebrities like Karl Lagerfeld, Kate Middleton and Michelle Obama are using.
In the Philippines right now, Biotulin is only available at select branches of Flawless skin clinic. While you can directly apply the gel to target areas in the face and neck, microneedling or fractional needling therapy (FNT) is recommended to open up the pores or skin and thus, be able to absorb the substance better (in this case, Biotulin).
Microneedling is basically a procedure where seemingly thousands of needles attached to a single device prick the skin. I tell you, it isn’t necessarily the most pleasant experience. It’s a good thing my pain tolerance is high and my skin also did not react adversely.
I have to admit I dreaded my second appointment at Flawless but my package called for 3 FNT sessions. Here’s how it went:
Looks so simple, isn’t it? The good thing is that this second visit hurt less than the first time. But my attending dermatologist, Dr. Cleofe Memije, also said that she adjusted the needles so that the sharp points will prick less.
This is a procedure which will take less than two hours, including the waiting time for the cream anesthetic to set in. Am relieved whenever I finish a session because it means am doing something good for myself. The struggle to look younger is real, LOL.
Happy with Biotulin so far. Now looking forward to my third and last session but will use it topically from hereon because it’s effective and low maintenance.
