Mercato Centrale food delivery via 87878

City Delivery (just dial 87878) has partnered with Mercato Centrale to deliver the food products of their most popular merchants all days of the week! I am glad this service is now available because while I truly love the weekend markets, there are times when am too lazy to get out of bed early. Plus, Saturdays and Sundays are usually reserved for family bonding.

I am still getting used to this food delivery thing and I can easily see the distinct advantages:

1. No more driving to the destination (in this case, the Mercato Centrale venue at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig). No more long lines and jostling with the rest of the creation for in-demand food treats.

2.The food arrives fresh and crispy, like it never endured motorcyle travel.

So far, I’ve tried:

Manang’s! the fast-rising deep-fried chicken brand with its secret soy-garlic sauce. Am relieved that with City Delivery, I don’t have to go to their first branch in Ortigas or the weekend markets to have my special fried chicken fix.

Bale Dutung by Claude Tayag is another must-taste in Mercato. Their lechon tortilla consists of crispy roast pork flakes that can be eaten with the sidings like some greens and kimchi that came with the package.

The pan de bagnet caught my eye the first time I visited the market. In simple terms, this is your bagnet sliced thinly then put in a ciabatta bun with dressing and topping. Now I found out that it’s still good even if it’s reheated in the toaster oven the morning after. This is the stuff Anthony Bourdain would cross continents for….yay!

I like the fact that my order was well-presented, cleanly wrapped, and with no details left out. They came complete with utensils, reusable food containers and sidings at no extra charge. High points for this food delivery!
