Couldn’t help but take a second look at the August issue of Metro magazine which has aspiring actress Maricar Reyes on the cover. As it turned out, looking at the cover wasn’t enough, so the next thing I did was buy it. 😛
Stunning photography by Sara Black, although the article written by Francine Medina Marquez refuses to say anything about the video scandal that has every tongue wagging for weeks on end. Perfectly understandable, since the questions were reviewed by Maricar’s handler.
I still find it hard to understand how fast this girl recovered from the controversy she figured in with the cad named Hayden Kho. But it looks like Dr. Maricar, a general practitioner, used reverse psychology on the public. Instead of hiding, she’s now raring to hog the limelight as an actress in the movie May Bukas Pa, the teleserye Gaano Kita Kamahal and the Filipino version of Lovers In Paris.
And now for the penultimate quote from Maricar:
“Never say a problem is the end of everything. I believe it’s up to you and how you deal with it. IF you say it’s the end, then it is the end. I always try to be excited about what the future holds. I think that’s the only way to do it. You just move on and find a solution that’s right for you, and right for the situation.”
I have that copy Ate Ajay. I stopped buying Metro years ago due to cost cutting measures (Preview na lang ang monthly style bible ko) but I can’t resist buying the Aug ish with Maricar on the cover. I love it when she said
“Silence is my biggest weapon.”

One great tipid tip: magbasa na lang ng mga magazine sa parlor habang nagpapa hot oil. Libre pa! hahaha
Now I want to buy myself one of these mags. I truly admire Maricar Reyes. She has risen above it all. Any one of us (yes that includes me) can be stupid enough to fall in love with the wrong man. Its really just how you manage to get up and move on. I must say she did that, with a lot of grace too!
I am incredulous too. She has used the incident to her advantage, I must say. 😀
She became an instant celebrity after that and her silence is advantageous to her. She’s got more projects and people wanted to see her so the ratings of her shows sky rocketed.
I like this girl… Her simplicity makes her pretty!
