Call me a believer in insurance products. I guess it stems from my being a parent and worrying so much about my children’s future. While am already subscribed to several policies, I try to maintain a healthy lifestyle just so I can live longer and avoid using my insurance prematurely. Ironic, isn’t it?
Imagine my elation when I learned that Manulife Philippines now has a program that rewards members for being active. Users may just download the ManulifeMOVE app on their Apple or Android device. By syncing the app with their regular fitness activities, they can get substantial discounts on their insurance premiums. How cool is that?
We attended the launch of this insurance product recently and witnessed popular actor Richard Yap strutting on the elliptical trainer alongside Mr. Ryan Charland, President & CEO of Manulife Philippines.
It was my first time to see Sir Chief in person and wow, no sign at all that he’s 48! He attributes everything to his healthy and fit lifestyle. This makes him the perfect ambassador of ManulifeMOVE alongside another superstar, Sarah Geronimo.
It’s so easy to get discounts on insurance premiums with ManulifeMOVE. For example, walking 5000 steps a day can get a member 5% discount on their premium for the next year of their eligible policy. The discount increases as one’s fitness level intensifies. With 7000 or 10,000 steps per day, the discount grows to 7% and 10% respectively.
Customers in the Philippines can avail of the ManulifeMOVE program by buying any of the eligible products, which include Manulife Health Choice, Adam, Eve, and any Manulife product with critical illness or hospital income benefit riders.
From now until March 31, 2016, subscribers of Manulife’s eligible MOVE products and make an initial premium payment of Php5,000 can claim a Misfit Shine fitness tracking device. Those who are unable to meet the initial payment requirement can still avail of a 25% discount on their purchase of either Misfit Shine or FitBit Flex.
The program is also open to customers of the Manulife China Bank Life Assurance Corporation (MCBL) who buy Health Choice, as well as MCBL Enrich and MCBL Invest with critical illness and hospital income benefit riders.
