When you need to keep your tech mobile you’ll want to make sure you’re fully accessible when you’re away from home and taking your Mac with you is how you plan to keep connected.
If you’re a blogger, Instagrammer or just love all the socials then you’ll want all your new experiences up for everyone to share online as you travel around.
Your trusty Mac is never far from your side but you’re always aware that you need to save your battery power to combat failure when you need it most. We’ve put together a short guide to helping conserve your Mac’s battery life and helping you avoid meltdown at just the moment you need that blog up online.
Low screen lighting
A bright screen will not only strain the eyes but will also go a long way in draining your Mac’s battery life. Luckily you can save both by using the F1 button to dim your screen right down and give your battery and your eyesight a well earned rest
Lose the hangers
If you have Apps and programmes hanging around in the background, even if you’re not using them, they will drain your battery. It’s an easy solution so quit anything that isn’t strictly necessary to what you’re working on right that moment. If you know how to copy and paste on Mac, you’ll know how to force quit Apps if you can’t immediately shut them down.
Stay private
When you’re browsing, stick to the private option. This effectively means that your Mac won’t have to work so hard to access your Mac’s history and will lose less power. You may not have immediate access to your website password history but your battery will thank you for it.
Let the tech take over
There are some very smart Apps out there and even some that will take over the job of reducing how much battery power your Mac is using. Set it to kick in when your battery level drops to a certain point and it will work to alter your screen lighting and other background adjustments to give you more juice when you need it most.
Go dark
Switch off your wifi and Bluetooth connections when you’re not using them. It might be rare that you find yourself in that position but just click on the icons and give your Mac a well earned rest.
