The first Magnum cafe in SM Aura may have closed, but lovers of the Belgian chocolate ice cream brand have a reason to rejoice because the second pop-up of Magnum Manila has opened in the Mall of Asia or MOA.
The Magnum Manila Pleasure Store in MOA is a much-smaller version of the now-closed pop-up in SM Aura. “It was a full-service resto. Our idea for this outlet in MOA is an al-fresco cafe where customers can treat themselves to a Magnum bar after an enjoyable day of shopping,” Magnum brand manager Andrea Huang told us during a lunch.
Even if it’s smaller, we love that Magnum Manila still has that classy and cozy feel. I also dig its location on the second level of MOA’s main wing which is right between our favorite stores Uniqlo and Forever 21.
One day, I dropped by during the lunch hour and Cherry the counter girl deftly prepared my order: a Magnum chocolate bar coated with white chocolate then sprinkled with my preferred toppings: caramel crunch balls, roasted almonds and freeze dried raspberries. She drizzled more chocolate sauce and crowned the bar with the Magnum coin and it was ready!
This was as delicious as it looked. All this goodness for only P120…yay!
To make your own Magnum, guests can choose their favorite Magnum bar (vanilla or chocolate)…coating (white, milk or dark chocolate)…and at least three toppings. Some of the fun choices include nerds, Oreos, choco chip cookies, and marshmallows. The adventurous can settle for chili flakes, sea salt flakes, parmesan popcorn or quezo de bola. There are 18 of these toppings to choose from.

The last step is to enjoy….I did! 🙂
For the next two Fridays and Saturdays (namely January 29/30 and february 5/6), there will be a Magnum Pleasure Hour where customers can get the chance to have their own free Make Your Own Magnum bar. Just come to the MOA store between 6 and 7 pm and share the promo photo found on @Magnum_PH Twitter and Instagram to claim the prize.
