I was invited recently to the launch of the Magnolia Chicken Station Deliteful Day and I couldn’t say no because I really am a customer of Magnolia Chicken products (as most of my friends are). My household can eat chicken all week and not complain. I love that Magnolia Chicken makes it easy for busy moms like me coz they have quality, ready made stuff like tocino, inasal and Korean BBQ, among others, that can be fried in a jiffy. The choice cuts like chicken fillet, drumsticks, thigh etc. take the headache out of food preparation. At SM Super/Hypermarkets, they can even customize the cut for you, such as when you want to make chicken cordon bleu, chicken pandan or chicken lollipop.
The good news is that our favorite fresh chicken now has a healthier, leaner line of products called Magnolia Chicken Station Lite. The line-up includes the high protein, less fat Magnolia Free Range Chicken, as well as lean, skinless breast cuts like breast fillet, chicken strips, chicken chunks, and lean ground chicken! It is certainly a welcome reprieve for those who want to pursue a more wholesome lifestyle without the unwanted calories and fats.
Anyhow, the atrium of SM Southmall was filled with a sizeable crowd for the first-ever DeLITEful Day. Check out the official Magnolia Chicken Station Facebook page for similar events coming in an area near you.
The event’s host was lovely actress Angel Aquino who sported a new look with her orange-colored hair.
There were games and an intermission number by a singer/group of dancers. But the most educational was the talk by San Miguel Purefoods in-house nutritionist Llena Tan-Arcenas who preached the gospel of healthy eating and safe food preparation.
She recommends eating lean, protein-rich foods like chicken, of course; adding fruits & vegetables in your daily diet; as well as using sugar, oil, salt and other table condiments in moderation.
Even when you’re eating fastfood, you can still opt to moderate. Read: don’t be tempted to upsize!
After the nutrition talk, we enjoyed the cooking demo by a chef who shhowed us how to do some Chicken, Mushrooms and Artichokes Panini.
Afterwards, it was time to check out the booths. We never went hungry because food samples were given. Some of those who exhibited were Slimmer’s World, YSA Botanica, San Miguel’s My Great Food Club, and San Miguel Pure Foods.
