Luxuri, store for authentic new & preowned designer bags, opens in Alabang

The family had a hotel staycation in Alabang this weekend and luckily, I stumbled upon the opening of Luxuri – a store for authentic new & preloved designer items that just opened in the Commercenter building. It was so chic and attractive that I arranged to interview the lovely owners the next day. Had a rundown of their prices and found it to be not priced so heftily (read: reasonable profit margins). Luxuri might as well be the new ‘it’ destination for bagaholics looking for a good deal in Manila.

The owners of Luxuri are Alelee Andanar and Anne Aguilar who also happen to be the sisters of famous dermatologist Dr. Aivee Teo.

“This shop was one year in the making.My sister and I would go abroad and buy bags in different colors for ourselves, and also for the store, ” said Alelee.

Alelee confesses to being a bag addict that she first conceptualized the store with her sister as a place to dispose of their old items.

“But then it also dawned on me that the market is ripe for a store like this, especially in Alabang. Online retail is so big these days that people are even willing to deposit the money without knowing the seller. As for Luxuri, we wanted to offer a venue where the customers can actually feel and see the bag. It is also our service for those who cannot travel but adore designer items.”

Luxuri’s merchandise range from the cheapest bag, like this LV pochette for P18,000…

to the most expensive, like the pair of Hermes Birkins 35 cm on display, about P490,000…

“But we’re not really stocking up much on the Hermes since we know for a fact that our customers in Alabang want an easier purchase. We want to see them walk out the door happy that they’ve got a good price for what they paid for,” Alelee adds.

I spotted a pair of Prada Tessuto that were priced from P36 to P38,000 but it seems I forgot to take a picture, haha.
