Got in just in time to avail of Cebu Pacific’s Unfare! promo which ended yesterday. I have to admit that I booked on a whim but the One Peso fare to select destinations in the country was just too cheap to resist. Flights to Kalibo, Tagbilaran and Puerto Princesa were already fully booked so I chose Iloilo. I don’t know why I picked Iloilo (har! har!) but the main reason is that I haven’t been there. I do plan to go on a food trip there when I travel early October. Plus, it’s a good jump-off point to Guimaras Island and Boracay is only five hours away by land. Munchin’ in Iloilo then partyin’ in Boracay in a span of three days seems like a very good idea.
I booked for this promo by telephone only. The line was busy for a few minutes but when I got through, I just gave the agent my credit card number and some details. Total fare, including taxes and surcharges, amounted to P1,600++++
It’s a good thing that local airlines are doing their thing to promote domestic tourism. People would be well-advised to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to see their country. From Manila, travelling by air seems shorter than if you go two to three hours to Laguna or Batangas by land. For those interested, Air Philippines has a parallel P1 fare promo ongoing until April 15.

I was in Megamall last week and wow, the line outside the Cebu Pacific office was pretty long! I wish I had taken advantage of it really, but I didn’t have the patience to wait. Iloilo is very interesting a d I’d love to read your future reviews of the food there. Please don’t forget to include their La Paz Batchoy and butterscotch pastries in your reviews. 🙂

I’ll be going to Iloilo also this August with the whole family. I’ve been to Iloilo and it’s a nice place; lots of tomador. And yes, we’re going there because of Cebu Pacific’s promo, too. I didn’t have to go through with the long queue, someone did it for me:wink: This is because my ‘bilas’ has a travel agency. When I went to Iloilo before, I ate the famous (and authentic) La Paz Batchoy in La Paz (a district of Iloilo City). I was drunk most of my stay there, and more drunk when we headed for Boracay. The whole trip cost only 4 thousand bucks, I did not pay a cent at the hotel where I stayed in Boracay (Bora to others), LIBRE since I was with my tito who is a friend of the owner. Actually, the second time to Boracay was free again.

Hi Toni. Yes, can’t wait to do my reviews but it’s still a few months away:wink: why not try booking over the phone or online next time? it will save you from all the hassle.
hahaha. it helps to know the right people Karl. When I was in Bora, my hotel was free too and also the food. I only spent for those eating places I wanted to try and as for the plane fare, I think Asian Spirit had a promo that time ~ only 3k round trip Manila-Caticlan and vice versa
