Fast forward to 2009 and I am happy to find Little Tokyo in Makati. Fellow bloggers have been talking about this place and it was time to see 😀 It warmed my heart at first sight.
The place is really nothing more but a tiny strip in Don Chino Roces Avenue (formerly Pasong Tamo) near corner of Amorsolo Street. The landmark is the old and fading Makati Cinema Square. What I did was chow on Japanese stuff after having my fill of bootleg DVD copies in MCS (there’s a whole floor of them) and segunda mano antiques.
What makes Little Tokyo authentic is that the resto owners and chefs are Japanese themselves. Throw in the nearby spa, grocery and nightclubs to complete the whole Japanese theme. The only thing missing is a boutique!
I will write more about its food in another post. Meanwhile, here’s a bowl of ramen to share…..
Ramen + Chahan at Hana is love. Prepared by Mr. Kimura for the price of 200 pesos.
This restaurant has the longest lunch hours, from 11 am to 3pm. It closes at 11 p.m. You gotta try their Takoyaki too. It has real octopus bits.

Hi, just wanted to ask, by any chance, do you know how I can contact this restaurant? There’s a site, Munchpunch, that said it was already closed. 🙁 Thanks a lot! 😀

The food in Little Tokyo is as good as all the reviews say. Must try’s are the Okonamiyake, Tokyaki Balls, and yakiniku. Little Tokyo is a Peaceful Oasis hidden away waiting to be discovered.
A warning to the unwary: Many of the establishments around Little Tokyo are Karaoke Bars, GRO Bars, “massage” parlors, and other such places. Don’t go to Little Tokyo at night with your teenage daughters, nieces, cousins etc at night when the Karaoke bars are in operation. Why? Because the drivers and bodyguards of the customers of these places like to hang around near the entrance/exit to Little Tokyo and think that its just another seedy place like the other. When we exited Little Tokyo, the drivers and bodyguards made rude and lascivious comments “bata ng GRO,” “sarap siguro ng batang ganyan,” and “bata pa nyan, ah” then eyeballed us up to the car. Of my cousin’s wife, mother of one teen, they said “mama-san siguro yan.”
To make things worse, one of the drivers there apparently works for someone also working in the same office building as me, and regaled the other drivers with tales about “young take-out” from that area, and how he saw me “taking-out” young girls.

Thanks for the tip, Father of Three. It’s worth taking your advice although I also found it a bit funny.:P

The tip or Father of Three looks hilarious an sad at the same time. I cant imagine myself in that situation, i think i would surely be infuriated by their remarks..

Little Tokyo is just beside Makati Cinema Square. Been there often, late night, mostly and the place’s really peaceful. No rude remarks, but when I do hear one, I wouldn’t just walk pass by it.. Oh no I won’t.
Love the place and the Salmon roe!
