The Philippines’ biggest bookstore, the Manila International Book Fair, happens only once a year and its ongoing until tomorrow, Sept. 3, at the World Trade Center on Sen. Gil Puyat Ave. cor. Roxas Blvd., Pasay City.
My friend, who’s the event’s publicist, sent this announcement to me:
“Touted as the country’s biggest annual bookstore’, the MIBF is sprawled on approximately 12,000 square meters of exhibit space, with 111 participants together under one roof – from publishers to book retailers like National
Bookstore, Powerbooks, Goodwill Bookstore and Fully-Booked – showcasing the largest and most varied collection of literature, textbooks, educational supplements, general references, religious and inspirational titles, self-help books, management books, Filipiniana, coffee table books, popular novels, children’s books, art books, graphic novels, rare titles, magazines, audio and e-books, multimedia, teaching supplies and services, publishers’ technology, and travel materials. ”
Bookworms will surely have a heyday in this fair. As for me, am not sure if I am attending (though I have, in previous years) as I am resisting the urge to buy more that will surely gather dust on my shelves and night table. Too many books, too little time. *sigh

I have yet to try the Google free downloads service, Ang-ang. Besides, I think I prefer leafing through the paper pages of a book than moving the cursor in the computer to go from one page to another 😉
