Beauty products are big business and one of the most popular categories is the field of whitening. I don’t know if it’s part of our colonial mentality, specifically our adoration for mestizas and the flawless Koreans, but most Filipinas would simply do anything to have fair, white skin!
Problem: the market is saturated enough with whitening products. We gotta watch where our money goes and so it’s important to choose the best one. But the whole process can be rather confusing.
Here’s some proven tips we can share before buying skin products. One is look at the label for its ingredients and test the item to see our sensitivity to it. Just because a product is luxurious or expensive doesn’t mean we will be hiyang or accustomed to it.
The second tip is a given. Do ample research by way of hearing about other people’s feedback. A product may be popular for a reason. It’s either they’re reasonably-priced or proven effective by countless users.
During a beauty day recently, Trisha Gregorio – marketing head of Kojiesan Philippines – pointed out that Kojiesan has been changing the lives of Filipino women since 2007. This is in the form of the Kojiesan Skin Lightening Soap which impressively blends high-grade Kojic acid with virgin coconut oil.
” Whitening products are popular because it has been shown in studies that having fairer, more flawless-looking complexion can really boost one’s self-esteem. However, not all whitening products are the same and not all so-called Kojic Acid formulated soaps are as effective and safe like Kojiesan which is manufactured by a 100% Filipino-owned company,” noted Ms. Gregorio.
What is Kojic acid and why should you look for this ingredient if you want to have whiter, lighter skin? In the same forum, cosmetic surgeon Dr. Lindsay Gail Wilson Torralba shared that Kojic acid is highly-recommended for its skin brightening benefits. It’s proven for evening out the skin tone, erasing dark spots, acne scars and other forms of skin pigmentation.
“With prolonged use of a product with Kojic acid, the skin will continue to become lighter until desired,” Dr. Torralba said.
Finally, we got our own dose of beauty tips from celebrity make-up artist RB Chanco who shared the proper way to do make-up. Her No. 1 rule is to Cleanse, Tone and Moisturize always before and after the process.
Now here’s a true story, am happy to have tried Kojiesan the past few months (in our role as Kojiesan digital ambassador of sorts) and I must say it really works in giving my skin the reddish, healthy, #nofilter glow.
I strongly recommend the Kojie san Skin Lightening Soap (only 68 pesos!) for targeting those areas in the skin that easily get dark like elbows, arms and feet.
The full Kojiesan range also includes Kojiesan Cleanser + Toner, equipped with Ginseng Extract and Rosehip Oil; Kojiesan Face Lightening Cream; and Kojiesan Body Lightening Lotion. If you’re not into whitening per se, use these products if you feel your skin has suffered from prolonged sun exposure and see the difference.
We’re also excited for the Kojiesan TV commercial….coming out soon!
