It seemed only last year when the first branch of IHOP (International House of Pancakes) opened in Bonifacio Global City. Who can forget those deliriously-long lines? The queues are gone at the BGC branch the last time we checked but that’s probably because IHOP has also opened in UP Town Center in Quezon City and Mall of Asia in Pasay City.
MOA? Yay. So near me. If I remember right, this new branch occupies the former location of Seattle’s Best, in front of the bay. I went here last week for the first anniversary celebration of IHOP in the Philippines. Was I surprised not to see pancakes for lunch but a huge platter of Filipino breakfast favorites 🙂
The IHOP folks say for a limited time, they will be offering Pinoy breakfast in the menu to appeal to the local appetites of some guests. The pancakes, omelettes, stuffed French toast, crepes and other American items will still be there, of course.
Priced from P295 to P375, the line-up consists of Savory Pork Longganisa, Classic Pork Tocino, Lean Chicken Sausage, Breakfast Beef Tapa and Classic Chicken Tocino.
The servings are quite hefty and can fill you up. I also liked how they make their fried rice (fluffy & not sticky). Also, you can specify how you want the eggs done (scrambled, sunny side up etc.)
My favorites in the selection are the Lean Chicken Sausage & Chicken Tocino but that’s because am really more of a chicken person. The longganisa is worth noting too …. the house means business when they promise two BIG chunks in one plate. LOL.

To prepare for summer, IHOP also unveiled four new ice cream parfait flavors they’ve co-created with Nestle.
In photo (from left): Mango Peaches & Cream Parfait which combines mango and cheesecake ice cream) and Chocolate Decadence, sinfully delicious with maple candied bacon, dark & white chocolate chips, butter pecan syrup.
The other two flavors are Childhood Memories (vanilla ice cream layered with strawberry/blueberry syrups then topped with crispy hash brown and cheesecake bits… so yummy, a must-try!) and Mixed Berry Parfait (chocolate ice cream smothered with strawberry & blueberry toppings, creamy yoghurt & oatmeal streusels).
Two honchos of Global Restaurant Concepts Inc. (the holding company of IHOP Philippines) were also present. We teased them that they look so fit for somebody with access to a lot of pancakes! anyway, say hi to Chief Financial Officer Griffith Go and GRCI Vice-Chairman Manuel Zubiri (Missing was CEO Archie Rodriguez).
From them we learned that IHOP will soon be opening more branches and these are in Century Mall; Filinvest, Alabang; Gateway Araneta; Rockwell Business Center; Robinsons Magnolia; Eastwood and Fairview Terraces in Quezon City.
Not only this, GRCI will also be introducing IHOP to the rest of Asia within the next three years. This includes Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore, among others.
Way to go!
