Smart TVs have come a long way since the first one came out in 2008. Not only did the design change but so did the Smart TV software.
They have come a long way since then and in this article, we’ll look at some of the advantages and how it has evolved into a more convenient intuitive Smart TV.
INTERNET CAPABILITIES
Much like our smartphones, Smart TVs uses internet connectivity and supports a wide range of
apps. Having internet capability, opens a new world of options, from streaming video on Netflix
and Hulu to interacting via social media, playing games, and even controlling other connected
devices throughout your home.
Some models have voice recognition tools such as Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri for switching channels, checking the weather, and searching for programs.
PRELOADED APPS
Most models have preloaded apps and programs that are ready to use as soon as you turn it on.
You can change what apps you see on the main screen and remove what you won’t use. Within
your settings, you can make any changes necessary to better personalize and enhance your
experience. As smart TV sales increased over the years, so did the available apps which offer live news, streaming TV
shows, and movies for free.
HOW BLUETOOTH WORKS
Bluetooth is a wireless connection that allows you to connect to other devices, speakers,
headsets, and more without the use of the internet or cables. Bluetooth also allows you to cast
videos, photos, and music from your smartphone to your Smart TV.
SMART TV RESOLUTION
TV Resolution refers to the number of pixels that form the picture on the TV. Smart TVs come
in many screen resolutions and just because a TV has a higher resolution than another, doesn’t
mean it is better. A Smart TV with better (HDR), high dynamic range performance, better
contrast ratio, or better color will create better pictures than one just having more pixels.
Smart TV resolution has now evolved to 4K Ultra HD which allows images to be seen in greater
clarity. 4K uses 8.3 million pixels, which is four times greater than a Full HD 1080p screen!
As technology continues to grow, you will continue to see changes that may or may not benefit
you. As for now, it is best to be a smart shopper before investing in a Smart TV. Look at what
each model has to offer you and your needs specifically. This will better your chances of getting
a Smart TV that you and your family will grow with as they continue to evolve and advance in
capabilities.
