We could have gone out of town, but on the day of our second wedding anniversary, hubby and I chose instead to snuggle up in Hotel Celeste. Reason for staying: we’ve never been here! I was certainly glad that the place looked as classy as it was in the pictures. The sight of those envelope-shaped pillows by the bed summoned me to open the surprises and possibilities that awaited us here in this inviting cocoon.
We liked the little touches like the L’Occitane toiletries in the bathroom. Yes I admit, I took the unfinished bottles home 😀
The entertainment area with the iPod dock and LCD TV by the wall.
The French style boudoir. I most loved the fact that when I peer out the window, I can see the Makati traffic below. At one point I got nostalgic because Hotel Celeste’s present spot was the location of Club Mars in the 90s, where me and my friends hang out.
At night, we sipped cocktails by the bar. The drinks list was very sparse, they could do better adding more selections. But otherwise I enjoyed drinking Cosmopolitan, a heady mix of vodka, triple sec and lime juice.
Breakfast next day was served by the hotel’s Restaurant Cicou. It was buffet, but you order a la carte style. For my plate, I chose mostly healthy fare (if you call white bread & croissant healthy!) Some of the items in the menu weren’t available, and that’s a bummer.
The good thing about Hotel Celeste? Free, uninterrupted wifi that reached up our rooms. Count in good service as well. There’s a 24-hour butler on call. And of course, the location! Greenbelt and Glorietta are just a short walk away, so is the row of Japanese restaurants along Pasay Road. We ended up sampling the ramen in Isshin, which was average, but worth trying anyway.
For this stay, I availed of the local residents’ rate of P6,600 – good enough for a deluxe room with free breakfast for two. We were supposed to get complimentary foot massage as well but it was a Sunday and the masseuses weren’t available (tip: make sure you check in Mondays to Saturdays). It was only a brief visit, and am already thinking of reasons to go back. Our monthsary perhaps? 😉

Never heard of Hotel Celeste prior to your post, but it ranks well – apparently – on TripAdvisor, so on the strength of your review, we may just book a room for my birthday. :)Thanks, AJay!

is the ‘Le Steak Favori de Chef Cyrille’ available on breakfast? it was what i ordered when i went there(Restaurant Cicou).
have you been to La Regalade? what’s your take on those two competing French restos.
ajay says
Hi John Ray. Unfortunately, I don’t think there was any steak offered for breakfast during our visit 🙁
We’re not much into French cuisine, but we’ll try La Regalade one of these days.
Thanks for dropping by 😉
