It’s been ages since I went to Pansol, Laguna! This place is famous for being the Hot Spring Resort Capital of the Philippines and its advantage is that it’s very near Manila.
One Sunday, I finally summoned the mood to drive down there since the kids always like playing in the water.Without traffic, one can reach Pansol in less than two hours. You know you’ve arrived when you see all these floaters and other water fun gear on the road.
We didn’t have any reservations. Gladly, one can take a pick from the assortment of resorts lining the highway. Our first stop was Sun City since they have this attractive signage on the road. Entrance fee was only P50. Going inside though, I was discouraged by the sight of the whole barangay engrossed in karaoke. The complex was more of a picnic area than anything.
Our next stop was Hillspa. Unlike Sun City, it was relatively quiet in here. There’s also a little climbing required to get to some parts of the resort. The swimming pool was inviting enough but when I checked the water, it wasn’t so hot.
I wanted to check out 88 Hotspring Resort which is Korean-owned. But I heard the entrance fee there is more expensive than the others, and we would be only staying for four hours max. So I pencilled 88 Hotspring for next time.
Nakakapagod maghanap ng resort ha! Our last stop for ocular was Splash Mountain and thankfully it passed my standards.Entrance fee was below P100 which is reasonable enough. The only catch is that we have to rent a table with umbrella to place our things for P300.
What I liked best about Splash Mountain was their pool with these kid-friendly slides which is preferred by my five year old daughter.
Behind the resort, there’s also the Splash Oasis Hotel and Splash Suites for overnight accommodations. I heard that in the hotels, there are indoor jacuzzis and pools. But I wasn’t able to check them. All the details are in the website http://splashmountain.com
The good thing about Splash Mountain is that they’re not strict against the bringing of food from outside.Barbecue grills are also available for rent in the resort. We saw a lot of families enjoying their picnic while of course relaxing in the pool.
Our time in Pansol was short and sweet but we did enjoy. Hope to be back soon.
