I enjoyed the Hong Kong Flower Show 2013 and it was a lucky coincidence that I am in HK again for the flower show’s 2016 edition! Even better: the family was billeted in Causeway Bay which was just a short walk away from the show’s venue in Victoria Park.
Entrance to the HK Flower Show is HKD$14 while for kids it’s only $7. The event is organized annually by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of Hong Kong and if you want to see this next year, make sure you are in the territory by second week of March. For 2016, the show runs until March 20.
Can’t tell for sure if the 2016 flower show is better than the previous years. The only difference I seemed to notice is the weather. It’s quite chilly now, with the temperature bordering between 15 to 17 degrees Celsius. Am welcoming it as a respite from the unbearable heat of Manila. Also, I get an excuse to wear a leather jacket, hehe
Anyway, isn’t this just pretty? A miniature stream and a bed of flowers to veer the mind away from the skyscraper overload of Hong Kong….
Unique and artistic colors and shapes. One can just imagine the work that went with each arrangement.
This section made of chess figures was quite an eyecatcher….
Also the one with flowering plants shaped like musical instruments…
Happy to see the Philippines represented in this year’s fair through the Knights of Rizal…
The Ocean Park pavilion was a popular spot among guests. It was nicely planned too. But Lucia did say “am afraid of the hammerhead shark,” lol.
Just look at these sea animals!
There were treats for kids like these cut-out figures..
Needless to say, the Hong Kong Flower Show is a delight for garden & gardening lovers. Even if you do not have the green thumb, there were just so many beautiful spots to fill up one’s Instagram feed! 🙂
