The long weekend just passed by and by a stroke of fate, two of my daughters & I found ourselves traipsing Bangkok and Pattaya in a span of three nights and four days. Congrats to my daughter Dionne for completing Country No. 3 (Thailand) and to our little Lucia for her first plane ride 🙂
What to do when you’re in Bangkok for less than 40 hours? We forgot about the temples and made the beeline to Hello Kitty House! Thankfully, this was so easy to find since all we did was alight at the Siam station of the city’s sky train.
A giant Kitty figure greeted us at the entrance. Prettiness all around…
Hello Kitty fans will surely love the interiors and furniture of this place which is how I imagine a Kitty mansion to look like. As expected, the color pink dominates.
Hello Kitty House at Siam Square consists of three sections: the cafe, retail store and spa. The dining area is the biggest. You order on the ground floor and eat there as well. But if it becomes too crowded, there’s more space on the second level where you can find giant Kitty figures.
Note the stained glass ceiling…
We ordered their Pancake Brunch Set which had this heart-shaped egg, salad greens, sausage and of course, these tiny Kitty-shaped pancakes (260Baht)
The dish came with my choice of latte…
This was the Ham & Cheese Sandwich (about 200 baht)
And these are some of the desserts we tried: strawberry cupcake, strawberry pancakes & the rainbow cake 😉
There’s more food and drinks in the menu, mostly cakes. There’s also tea, smoothies and even mocktails.
We tried to enter the spa but the lady at the door said ‘no picture!’ This is where beautyholics get their desired massage, Kitty-themed nails and even eyelash extensions.
And so we detoured to the retail shop which was filled with licensed Sanrio products. Here’s where you get the real stuff (and collector’s items). Most are priced at 1000 baht and up.
As Lucia began to request for a toy (again!) I diverted her attention to the vintage Volkswagen in the middle of the room. Certainly a nice spot for a photo op.
Overall, the Hello Kitty House and cafe is a fun place to spend time and bring the kids when you find yourself in Bangkok.
